Creating a Facebook Event to Launch Your Amazon Product

Purpose

Since almost we are active Facebook users, this is one of the most powerful strategies you can use to launch your Amazon product, generating purchases AND reviews at the same time.

IMPORTANT:

1.    This is just one of the Listing Boost Method traffic strategies you can use to get a burst of traffic to your Amazon product.

2.    If you’re not an active Facebook user, then this strategy is probably not best for you since you won’t generate much traction.

3.    This strategy can be extremely effective if you work at it and promote it every day during your launch.

Overview

With this strategy, you’ll be creating a Facebook Event Page to allow your friends, family members, and people they know (through Facebook) to purchase your Amazon product for a steeply discounted price on one day only.

To get as many people on-board as possible, you’ll want to give about 7 days to lead up to the promotion day. During those 7 days, you’re constantly reaching out to people you know on Facebook to join your event page – it’s actually a really good deal for them since they get the big discount.

To do this strategy, you need to make sure your Amazon product is live and you have inventory in stock to ship when people place their orders (if you’re using FBA, this will happen automatically).

How to Create Your Facebook Event Page

1.    Login to your personal Facebook account

2.    On the left sidebar, look for the “Events” link (may need to click “More” at the bottom)

3.    At the top-right, click “+Create Event”

4.    Enter the “Name” of your product launch event (e.g., “Matt’s Super Silicone Spatula Launch on Amazon”)

5.    For “Details”, tell people what this event is all about (see example) below

6.    You can leave “Where” blank (or just put anything in there)

7.    Give a specific date (at least 7 days out) – you can leave the time blank

8.    For “Privacy”, choose “Public” and click the “Create” button!

SAMPLE EVENT DESCRIPTION:

I am launching my Super Silicone Spatula product on Amazon and need your help. To get the maximum results, I need to sell as many units of this product as possible in just one day.

I’ve created a coupon that brings the price of the product down to just $1.

Can you help me?

This deal is only good on April 28th, 2013 and I only have 20 of these to give away at this price.

On April 28th, go to Amazon.com and search for “silicone spatula”.

My product will probably be on the fifth page. But please search for the keyword first (it helps me out).

Buy one Super Silicone Spatula.

On the payment page where Amazon asks if you have any gift cards or coupons, use this private code:XX33XX33

Please don’t miss it.

Thank you for your support.

NOTES ON THE SAMPLE EVENT DESCRIPTION:

You MUST create a coupon code to make this effective. It doesn’t have to be to get your product for $1 (it can just be a % off), but you want to make it as appealing as possible.

You want to set a limit on the # of uses. You’ll just have to track this manually in your Amazon account and can choose to stop the promotion whenever you want from your “Manage Promotions” screen.

It’s most effective if people search for your main keyword first, THEN buy your product. But, you’ll want to see where your product ranks for that keyword before the promotion. If you’re after page 6, then either choose a different keyword or just give people the direct product URL.

Promoting Your Facebook Event

Starting as soon as your Facebook Event Page is ready, you’ll want to tell your friends, family members, and anyone else you can think of to join your Event Page.

Do at least one daily status update telling your friends to join your page.

Also, from within your Facebook Event Page, use the “Invite Friends” buttons to invite as many people as you can.

Just like launching anything, the more effort you put into driving people to your page, the better your results will be.

The Day of Your Launch

You’ve worked hard for 7 days and have driven as many people as you can think of (and asked their friends) to join your Facebook Event Page. Now, the promotion day has come, what do you do?

First, make sure your coupon code is working and the dates are correct.

Second, do at least 3 (preferably 5-6) Facebook Updates on your event page and on your personal page throughout the day (don’t do them all at once).

Third, thank people for purchasing your product publicly on your Facebook Event Page.
